Day 25&26: After a couple of stops in Warsaw, Poland and Zurich,
Switzerland, I got in my first class seat back to the good old USofA!!
Such an amazing and wonderful trip!!!
Day 24: Took a 2.5 hour walking tour to see more of Prague and learn
about it's history. Ended the day with a lovely paddle boat ride.
Day 23: Took a 3 hour castle tour that took us all over Prague. So
beautiful!
Day 22: Left Berlin and took a bus to visit Dresden, Germany for about
6 hours. Then took a train to Prague, Czech Republic.
Day 21: More biking and running and lake time. We found a cool tree to
climb up and jump out of!!
Day 20: Staying at Louisa's dad's in southern Berlin. They live right
by some gorgeous lakes that we went running by and even swam in! We
also visited the largest department store in Europe called Ka De We.
Day 19: Rode bikes to visit Louisa and Loni's school...we even got to
sit in on Loni's German class! I met Louisa's grandma (Omi), visited
the remains of the Berlin Wall, and ended the day watching Germany vs.
USA soccer with a house full of Germans!
Day 18: Staying with Louisa and her mom and sister! Louisa took us all
over Berlin to see the sights.
Day 17: Flying to Berlin, Germany! First stop...bratwurst and
sauerkraut.
Day 16: Took a bike tour all over Copenhagen! It was pretty scary
because they have about one bike to every person so there are tons of
bikers cruising around everywhere!
Day 15: Enjoyed the Copenhagen Cathedral, street performers, and many
other sights.
Day 14: Lots of touring of Copenhagen that included an aquarium and a
visit to Fish Kiss!
Day 13: Visited the Nordic Council of Ministers to learn about how they
are taking care of the environment, toured Frederiksborg Castle, and
went to the Louisiana Museum.
Day 12: Long train ride to Copenhagen, Denmark where we did lots of
tours and visits and ended the day at a big amusement park with rides!
Day 11: Visited Vasa Museum with a huge recovered sunken ship,
Junibacken Museum that is about Astrid Lindgren's books...she is the
author of Pippi Longstocking and many other children's favorites.
Day 10: Beautiful Stockholm! Got to do a bike tour of the city and
visited Skansen that was kind of like a big zoo!
Day 9: Arriving by ship to Stockholm, Sweden. We did lots of walking
around and getting tours of amazing buildings!
Day 8: Church in Siuntio, more school visits, tour of Turku Castle, and
boarding the cruise ship heading to Stockholm!
Day 7: More school visits and tours and a stay in a lake cabin with a
sauna! So beautiful and one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Day 6: More touring of Helsinki, visited a few different schools, and
stayed with my second Finnish family! Paivi teaches 3rd grade and her
husband Andy is from Utah!
Day 5: More Helsinki with a ferry ride to an island called Suomenlinna
and my first stay with a Finnish educator named Eljas that lived in a
little village called Siuntio.
Day 4: Took a ferry over to Tallinn, Estonia to enjoy a walking your of
the city and a massage at a spa!
Day 3: Enjoyed a run to the port and some shopping.
Day 2: After 4 flights and 5 airports, I finally made it to my hotel in
Helsinki!
Day 1: First class seat to Frankfurt, Germany! From there I'll take a
plane to Helsinki, Finland.
